Black Student Union (BSU)

The Black Student Union (BSU) was formally established on January 14, 1969 as a means for Black students to advocate for one another and to work for the interest of all Black students, faculty, staff, and members of the Black community. The BSU strives to embrace Blackness in all its forms by creating an intellectual, cultural, and social environment for students of the University of Minnesota through awareness, education and action.

Black International Identifying Students Group

For Black International Identifying students, International Student and Scholar Services provides a monthly group for international students, and was formed as an outlet for International Black Identifying students to discuss what it means to be a Black International student in the US.

The group is designed to be a safe space for all to express themselves while respecting the views of other people. The group helps to connect students to each other and resources available on campus. For information or interest email [email protected].
